This policy explains what personal data AINOW Society collects through ainow.mk, why we collect it, how long we keep it and which rights you have. Last updated: 14 October 2026.
Who is responsible
AINOW Society is a non-profit association registered in North Macedonia (association number 7823002, Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia). We are the controller of the personal data described on this page.
Our data protection officer is Suad Seferi, and our legal contact is Maja Mirković. Write to [email protected] for anything about consent, access to your data or any other data right. One address, one inbox, so nothing gets lost.
What we collect and why
Contact form and email. Your name, email address and message, and what you choose to tell us in the form: your role or organisation, the topic, a phone number, where you are based and how you found AINOW. We use them to answer you. The basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us. Messages are stored in the website database and delivered to our mailbox.
Partnership form. Your name, email address, organisation, your role, what you would like to do together (for example a joint project, training, sponsorship or funding) and your message. We use them to reply and to prepare a partnership. The basis is our legitimate interest in answering partnership enquiries.
Join form. The community join form is our own form on this website. What you enter (name, email, city, your experience with AI, how you found AINOW, what you are interested in and a message) is stored in the website database and used to add you to the community. The basis is your consent.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address, your language, the time and wording of your consent and a hashed (unreadable) form of your IP address. We ask you to confirm by email before we send anything. Newsletters are delivered by Resend, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The basis is your consent.
Ask AI assistant. The question you type, the answer shown and a hashed (unreadable) form of your IP address, used to keep the service safe and to improve it. These logs are deleted after 90 days. To write an answer, the question text may be sent to an AI provider we use. Please do not type personal data into the assistant. Your chat history stays only in your own browser.
Analytics. Google Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies. The basis is your consent, and you can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
Booking a call. The Book a call buttons open our Google Calendar booking page. What you enter there is processed by Google under its own terms, and we receive the booking.
Security and spam protection. Our forms use a hidden spam trap and limit how many messages one connection can send, using a hashed form of the IP address. The basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.
Technical logs. IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept briefly by our hosting for security and fault-finding. The basis is our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site.
We do not sell personal data and we do not make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
Who receives your data
Only service providers that work for us and follow our instructions: our hosting and email providers, Resend (newsletter delivery), Google (analytics, only with consent, and the booking calendar if you use it) and the AI providers behind the assistant. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Some providers are located outside North Macedonia and the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that happens we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
Contact and partnership messages: as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, then deleted.
Join form details: while you are part of the community. We delete them when you ask.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only the minimum needed to respect your choice not to be contacted again.
Assistant logs: 90 days.
Analytics: according to the retention settings of our Google Analytics property, and only if you consented.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, a portable copy, or object to processing. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, and this does not affect what happened before. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month.
Complaints
If you think we handled your data wrongly, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia (azlp.mk) or, if you live in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and browser storage
Which cookies we use, what is kept in your browser and how to control it is explained in our Cookie Policy.
Children
ainow.mk is not aimed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle data we update this page and its date. Material changes are also announced in the community.
